Green said, in as many words, "you suck, do it right next time," but never actually explained how to perform the mechanic correctly, even when Red directly asked "What am I supposed to do?" They opened with attitude, insults, and threats right out of the gate. We have no metric for Red's "effort." As far as we know, they were trying their hardest and became overwhelmed anyway - and getting shat on by Green certainly wouldn't've helped with that. I agree with the principle, but not in this situation. There’s just no winning with those kinds of people. Not only do they not put effort in doing things right, they also get angry and try to bring other people down when they get called out. Red is the kind of person I hate working with irl. Red could’ve easily said “ok my bad” (it was indeed their mistake, and that’s fine) but instead they started mocking/being sarcastic to Green, calling them a special child :D and saying their parents must be proud of them repeatedly. To me, Red reeks of “I wasn’t paying attention so I messed up a mechanic and someone called me out so I’m gonna be petty and call them toxic in an attempt to get even”. I say should because Red admits later on that they weren’t paying attention (saying they were half asleep-then changing that excuse to say that they were talking to a friend what even is the truth?) Idk about you but if I’m doing content without looking up a guide, I will pay a little more attention to the fight bc I don’t know what those huge scary purple circles are gonna do. How is “picking them up” not a tip? and like green said, the dps should’ve seen them do it the entire time. I feel had they been polite and not demeaning about the situation, this tale could have been avoided. I found it interesting GREEN could get so worked up over a totally irrelevant mechanic that caused us no issues. Surprisingly a wipe on the final boss (myself and GREEN knockbacked into pits) does not inflame tensions further, although I found it funny GREEN died to it while complaining about RED not doing mechanics. Any totems in this zone when Cenu Vanu finishes their channel will be given life and tether to the boss, granting Cenu Vanu immunity until the totems are killed.ĭespite the efforts of the group, we do not execute the mechanic flawlessly and twice a totem is not cleared from the zone.
